Beach at Posto 1 and Lunch at Shirley’s
Another attempt at relaxing on the beach! It doesn’t come naturally to us, but we enjoy it when we get on and get settled.
Today we walked along the far end of the front to the Hilton Hotel end, Posto 1 - sections of the beach are marked by Posto numbers. Chose Carlinho’s to rent our seats and sunshade from, but it could have been from any of the little beach stands really and probably all much a muchness. Bb sat in the shade and I moved between sun and shade. Both obviously wearing high protection cream. There’s always too much going on for us to read and so we’re quite happy to sit back and people watch. Both had a paddle. It was lovely to see the whole sweep of Copacabana from this end for a change. A couple of hours was enough for us.
Then lunch in Shirley’s: a fish restaurant on Gustavo Sampaio, just a 10 min walk away. We’ve passed it many times and always thought we’d like to try it. We shared a small starter of dressed crab and then shared a grilled sole dish. Both delicious and nice service.
Walked back to the studio, had a rest, then some Yahtzee in Quintal, up the top of our street, where we also had a couple of pasteis (Brazilian savoury pastries).
A good and relaxed day.
