Tarbatness Lighthouse
A fine day, calm but mostly cloudy. Broken sunshine in the afternoon and evening.
Headed out after breakfast. Met up for a coffee with Blippers Alfthomas and Arclight, not seen them in a good few years. After a cuppa, a look around Tain. Moved on to the village of Portmahomack, the Tarbatness lighthouse, Rockfield and Balintore, all beautiful spots. After tea, cleaned the house, packed the bags, ready for an early start tomorrow. Try a couple of pints down at Grannies.
A brilliant week exploring the very north of Scotland, mostly new areas to me, with a couple of places I've been before. Today was the final day of exploring the mainland, and more new places to see. I think my favourite was the lighthouse, just like the ones out the storybooks. We don't have tall lighthouses in Shetland, as most stand on tall cliffs, so a novelty to see this wonderful structure, especially with the red rings. I'll definitely be back to this area again, with more places still to see. The Tarbatness Lighthouse, Ross-Shire.
