Rolling

The sea was loud, demanding attention on our morning walk.  Bumped into Pam & Penny and labradors Abby and Bailey.  Kyro was a good boy with the dogs.

He's been reactive with so many of the dogs we've encountered.  Something has happened in his past to have this behaviour.  He is responding to reward training with 'Be good' and a treat to distract as we pass other dogs and given when no reaction has occurred.  It's working 9 times out of 10.

Had a trip to Holt, leaving the hound in a new home for his first time.  Re-acquainted ourselves with the town.  Bought some goodies from the Two Magpies bakery.

The hound was fine and welcomed us on our return.

After lunch decided to use the windfall cooking apples to make a crumble.  Still haven't found my pottery baking dish so used a heatproof glass one.  Tried to put the oven on but had no response.  I'm not familiar with electric hobs and ovens.  My former gas cooker was press the igniter and hold the gas open for a few seconds, and that was it.

I checked the fusebox which was fine.  Read the manual which wasn't forthcoming with help and even googled the issue which didn't help.  Looked on Nextdoor for Sheringham and found a local domestic appliance engineer, Adam, rang him and he said he'd come this afternoon.

The upshot was that the switch for the hob also applies for the oven.  It would not have occurred to me as the appliances are from different companies NEFF and Zanussi.  I do feel a total idiot.  Adam only charged me £20. Much cheaper than the online quotes of £85-£99!  Strikes me my life in the kitchen and with appliances has been so simple for half a century.

The crumble has been made but nit yet sampled.

Bed soon.  I'm sleeping well here but am ready for bed by 8.30.

Pleasant evening everyone.
