Top team

Well, we managed to beat the Chobham under-11 girls team today which I think is the only victory for the Chobham Walking Cricket team this season. The opposition were impressive with lots of energy and a number of players who bowled and batted very well. Their coach,  who umpired and scored the game, was pleased to see how competitive they were. I hit 23 runs and bowled the last over of the day. The aches and pains are still there and I'm now using ice cold gel rub to ease them. It looks like we may be facing a team of our contemporaries next week.from a rival Walking Cricket team  - a local derby. I fear this may not end well!

I popped into Basil and Blue after the game for a coffee and toastie and saw that a new topper had appeared on the nearby postbox. Not entirely sure what a juggling clown is signifying but it's a cheery scene.

The extra is of one of the wickets on the cricket ground - so dry it's cracking up and is  probably too risky for play.
