Blunt message
An important, brutally practically session at 9am. My erstwhile boss and yet still-friend is the man in the blue shirt, three in from the right. The big question - how do we keep our shows funded, without falling into the slipstream of the imported inflation of American production? I took a lot of notes, not so much of what was being said but of thoughts that came up as we went along
I then went, not to the inspiring sessions others spoke of, but to the Sky presentations and the BBC presentation. Amit came to the former which was good as we have a show in development with them. After the BBC event, which was a bit scratchy I went back to @xtoph1 to collect my luggage. Sarah took me to the station.
It was a fast train that somehow was still delayed into Kings X by about 20 mins. I couldn’t settle to much, dealing with estate agents, back-blips and finally watching more eps of SILO and reading my book, We Shall Be Entirely Free by Andrew Miller. Not a book I’d never heard of, it was on the 25 best books of the quarter century list in the Sunday Times so I picked it up. I’ve read 17 of the 25 mentioned and think I’ll work my way through the rest.
Home by about 10pm which was a relief, back sore from toting heavy bags and I fell into a bath and bed.
