Arrival in Uig
We've made it to Uig on the Isle of Lewis for the second week of our holiday. I love the range of goods in the community shop. They know the tastes of their holiday customers. (We bought wine, craft beer, filter coffee, and fancy cheese.)
Our day started with loading the car in Wester Ross, tidying up the cottage, and then driving to Ullapool. We stocked up on essentials at Tesco, then boarded the ferry for Stornoway. We played our first two of three games of Scrabble today as we crossed the Minch. (Miraculously) I won both of them.
Once at the Hayloft in Uig, we unpacked, popped up to the shop, then wandered over the beach to the far shoreline so that Mr hazelh could go for a swim.
Back at the house, I prepared lentil loaf and a hot salsa for supper while keeping an eye on game 3 of Scrabble - which I also won. I fear that my luck with the letters is not going to last...
Exercise today: walking (11,212 steps).
