Although we were not particularly early to bed last night, Mr A was up bright and early, and whilst I was still snoozing, he was putting the rest of the curtains back up. As a result of this early start and some smart packing work, we were away from Tain before 9am. The morning traffic going south was not too bad, but there was the inevitable slow running through the dualling works and some pretty slow traffic getting over the Queensferry Crossing. (The northbound traffic meanwhile was organised in a series of queues...) None the less, including a visit to the supermarket, we were back in the flat before 1pm.
We popped out again almost straight away, to take a picture to be framed to the framers on Bangor Road, and on the way back* we went over to Campervan, had a couple of relatively swift pints and brought a wee take out of two cans and a takeaway Croque Monsieur and chips each from Cocorico which is almost next door to Campervan.
Since then, we've been slumped in front of the TV watching rugby World Cup. Scotland pretty much stuffing Wales, and then Canada giving Fiji a hiding. We're even going to watch France v Italy which might well be a closer match. Well, we hope so. No skin in that particular game although probably a slight leaning towards Italy.
* Well, almost, but not quite. Only a slight detour to the other side of Bonnington Road. But it would be rude not to take advantage of the hipster taprooms since we have to be back in Edinburgh.
