45 Years

Well the reason for our little break in Co Durham is for our 45th wedding anniversary! So today we went back to Barnard Castle for a coffee and to visit the scene of the ‘crime’ all those years ago.

After coffee, we went on another walk..from ‘Barny’ to Egglestone Abbey..about 2 miles away. Obviously we walked back (but on the other side of the river Tees) and had a light lunch.

Then we drove to Gainford (where Mrs madwill lived before we were married) and walked down to the river there, where we had recently scattered her brother’s ashes.

Back to Barny for a very nice pub ‘dinner’ before retiring to the hotel at Bowles.

Sadly the WiFi is playing silly b*ggers this evening and mobile signal is dire, so I can’t load my camera photos (way too slow)..so having to make do with this fungus (looks like a bread bun) that I snapped on my phone in Gainford
