Airdrieonians 1 Queen's Park 1

Neither Rick or I fancied the drive up to South Shields to watch Chester and it proved to be the right decision as they got hammered 4-0. Instead, I decided to have a day out on the train on a Scottish football ground jaunt. It's quite easy to get to Glasgow for midday and there are then a few grounds within range so today I went to Airdrieonians which is another 30 minutes on Scotrail. The limiting factor for these trips is that I need to catch the 18:40 train from Glasgow to get back to Warrington and then on to Chester. Today all the trains were on time and it worked perfectly.

It wasn't a bad game and 1-1 was probably a fair result with two good goals to enjoy. I can't say I was taken by Airdrie's ground. Being built in the 1990s it lacked character with the stands looking like they were built from lego.
