Fresh Hop Party

Our friend John is an outstanding brewer, and every year at this time he hosts his Fresh Hop Brewing party. Those of us who grow hops, six or eight of us, pick them in the morning, then bring them to John’s. We started early and picked ours growing by Peanut’s Corner on her arbor, then transport them to John’s. We sit around and visit while we pick. When finished, we dump them into the brewing tank (80 gallons), and John does his magic with them. John was a high school science teacher, so he is Mr. Science at this, all fittings, and cleaners, and pumps, and timing. He is The Man, and I wish you could taste his beer. It is the best. It was hot, but manageable today. His brew will be ready in a couple of weeks. A fun Saturday.
