Becalmed
With it technically being the first day of my holiday today, I felt the irresistible pull of the sea, so decided that I would head down to Morecambe for a stroll along the prom.
Before doing so, I headed out on a 7k run, which was incredibly invigorating and helped the clear head a little. Always takes me a little time to separate the work head, from the “being me” head.
Morecambe was even more bustling than usual due to the presence of some sort of cycling event on the prom, so I walked away from the crowd and along the stone jetty. The incoming tide had brought with it a welcome sense of calm and there was barely a sound to be heard save for the whirring of the overhead radar.
I took a shot of this guy who also seemed to have similar ideas about moving away from the crowd.
With the run mobilising my metabolism (and having eaten largely well this week), I decided to treat myself to a fry-up from Ralphy’s, which was just the perfect size and gave me room for a prom-based ice-dream, before I headed for home and an afternoon viewing of The Prestige.
Really lovely day.
