A headful of Nick Drake

I was very down yesterday and not without good reason. Nick Drake has rescued me once again. Some see his music as being ‘melancholic.’ I don’t. It’s not so much his lyrics, sharply observerd as they are, it’s his music that speaks to me. This record is somewhat ironicaly titled: Bryter Layter. It only got darker for Nick, but happily that has not been the case for me. If music can save you, then this music has saved me many times over. The album was kindly signed for me by Nick’s producer and enabler, Joe Boyd.
