Gently down the stream

White Bryony

Very much a plant day.  Drastic rearranging done in my very small garden, which somehow helped me to rearrange my head space at the same time.  Pleased with the results.  So when I went for a short local walk just after lunch, it had to be a plant I was looking for.

This is White Bryony, Bryonia cretica.  I've always loved it's slightly ridiculous furry petals.  And later, of course, it's bright red berries, so pretty and redolent of autumn (though eating them would not be a good idea)!

Apart from that, all's quiet on the Winchester Front.  Duke came out as I gardened and sprawled on the grass, but it was really too hot for him.  I found a very large toad (looked pregnant) scrambling around under some rose bushes, talked to Little Sis on the phone, and managed to completely fill my garden recycling bin.  A little later I must go out and water, which is a bit of a bore as unsurprisingly we currently have a hosepipe ban.

Okay, that's me

Have a happy evening, all  xx

PS: Just a reminder, WFW25 ends at midnight tonight.  Thanks for all your support this spring and summer x
