Sunday.
Early around 8ish, so not as early as I wanted. In fact I was to late for mist that hung over Buttermere,. as two swimmers from South Yorkshire told me. They had swum in Buttermere, which was where I wanted to be. This is Crummock Water. Roughly in the middle the water has been disturbed. A bird has just landed, but what bird it is I couldn't tell.
I had wanted to do long exposures, but as you can see there wasn't any breeze so no waves; nothing to smooth out! I could have chosen any one of the photos I took today-reflections. The early start was essential. All along the side of Crummock every available space was taken by overnighters cooking breakfast and some folk in pyjamas. Each one to their own. You never know what you see, so as I was having a drink along comes a farmer on his quad bike ushering cows to their field just outside Buttermere.
