An ordinary life....

Contemplating waterfalls...

It's been a lovely day.

Agnes and Adrian arrived just after midday and we headed to Birnam Arts Centre for lunch.  Delicious butternut squash and orange soup and cheese and onion toasties.  D and Adrian also enjoyed some of their chocolate and coffee cake.

The weather wasn't as sunny as we'd hoped it would be but it was dry and mild so we headed to the Hermitage just past Dunkeld and walked to Ossian's Hall.

It's such a lovely walk through the woods and is very popular with people of all ages and abilities.  It was busy today, which could easily spoil the walk, but everyone is friendly and enjoying the beautiful woodland and we stopped to pat countless dogs and pass the time with their owners.

The water levels of the River Braan were quite low and the Black Linn Falls at Ossian's Hall weren't as powerful as they can be.  Still beautiful though and enough water pouring over the rocks to make an impressive noise.

The last time D and I went there we only went as far as Ossian's Hall as the path leading up the hill from it had channels cut across it to allow rain water to come down the hill in a controlled way but the channels were too wide for my wheels to cross.  This time we noticed wooden slats had been added, which meant I could now get across.

I was very happy to be able to continue the walk and was hoping to get as far as the Totem Pole but about 200 yards up the hill there was a drop in level with a wooden slat that was just too big a drop for my wheels, so we had to turn back.  Disappointing.  Perhaps they're still working on making that path more accessible.  Regardless we had a lovely walk with lots of chat and lots of laughter.

Back to the car and home in time for dinner then a relaxing evening watching the golf highlights then the first two episodes of Black Doves, which Agnes and Adrian hadn't seen.  We watched it a while ago but were happy to watch again as we enjoyed it.

Got to bed at a respectable hour....for us :-))
