In The Early Morning Light...

This is the almost closed Light-shy bloom of the Night-blooming cereus, a variety of cactus which blooms, as its name suggests, only at night. The cactus itself is rather plain and those in our yard always look a bit ragged for lack of any special attention. And although their blooms are rather spectacular, they do give-off, at least to me, a slight 'vampire vibe'.  
Note to self: set alarm to photograph NBC while it's open.  m
