Cowley Bridge

We have started a new project - walking the canal tow path of the Grand Union Canal northwards from Brentford. We are familiar with the canal for the first few miles, but today we had our first long walk, from Hanwell to Uxbridge. This is the bridge above Cowley Lock in Uxbridge, and was typical of the many arched bridges we passed, built around the time of the canal's construction in the early 1800s. We will do the walk when we have free days, using public transport at either end, and hopefully it won't take us too many years!
