This sums up the day...

...or at least the attempt to get some oats harvested.

In the morning the weather wasn't helping much after the rain yesterday, so it was still quite wet at noon. There were a couple of showers already before I drove the combine to the field and soon after this (the fifth tankful) there was another. By that time the trailer was under the roof of the dryer, so no damage done, but the moisture was higher than any batch so far. A small batch, but better that way in this case.

I started the day by emptying the previous batch from the dryer, this time straight back to the trailer, as the next thing was delivering it. After lunch I cleaned the dryer. Next was a visit by the furnace service guy, as there was a little leak in the fuel pump, which was not a part of the service he did three weeks ago. More expense...

Despite the many showers, there was barely half a millimetre in the gauge.
