Picked and packed

I have been watering my tomatoes religiously and today I picked every one that was ripe or nearly ripe to take with us… a very nice little crop with more to come.. I hope we get some on our return.
Our plan to leave by 8 slipped by an hour but we were out the door at 8.50. The traffic was pretty horrendous between Birmingham and Preston and every service station had queues of cars holding up the motorway so we forged on without stopping till north of Lancaster. When we did come off it was mayhem trying to park and queues for loos… ugh. It reinforced why I never travel on a Bank holiday!! However we made it eventually and it had clearly been a fabulous day. The sea was smooth and sparkling and inviting but I felt too tired to swim immediately.. tomorrow I hope.
My daughter was travelling south so we shared a live location with each other just in time to see we would pass within a few minutes. Both of us in red cars we kept eyes open and then I saw her. Flashed like mad and waved .. as did they!! A highlight in our journey. Their journey was very long poor things
