Waiting for John

I had my pacemaker check this morning at 9am. The traffic was very heavy but we made it in time at the Christchurch outpatient department.

They told me that I have been in constant Atrial fibrillation since December last year. My pacemaker has been working overtime. I really don't like the feeling when they do the testing with dropping the speed, then making the heart go fast. I feel like I would faint.

I was told they have upped the speed before the pacemaker cuts in as it will help the make the battery last longer. Also after a year in AF they cut the top chamber off and only work the lower chamber as after that long in AF it is too much work for the pacemaker.

I said to John I would only be there around 15min as I am the first one on the list. But In case there is hold up to come back by 9:30 am.

I got really cold waiting for him as he didn't turn up until after 10am. I had to be waiting for him because there is difficulty to find a place to park. I walked up and down in front of building. The wind was icy cold and there was no sun. This is where I took this shot of building.

We did get some sunshine in afternoon along with lots of clouds passing by. It reached around 10c.
