Look Down!

It pays rewards when walking along the front of Copacabana beach!  All of this is spread out on the famous paving!

We had a few hours on the beach at the closest access point, five minutes from our front door, and enjoyed the openness and peace following the busy weekend days!  See the ‘quieter’ views in one of the extras.

After a long lunch (iscas de peixe at Hera), we then went to the Bottle Bar, near the Copacabana Palace Hotel, for the 8pm concert there.  Dd had found it and the place turns out to be the cradle of bossa nova, and got its name because it’s in a tiny quiet street and all the neighbours used to throw bottles to shut the noisy musicians up . . . and that included Tom Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes!   See second extra for a flavour of the walk there and the place.
