A lovely day!

Beach for a while at near Posto 4 (with Bb sporting his new Rio trunks), which is the nearest strip to our studio - just down Santa Clara and and across the zebra crossing!

A walk along the front for late lunch in Hera, little pieces of breadcrumbed fish and a salad.

Then, and because the timing was right, a spontaneous decision to walk back along Copacabana, passing our entrance to Santa Clara (just at the Marriott Hotel, in case anyone knows Rio) and one block past Copacabana Palace, arriving just in time for the 8pm show in The Bottle Bar, a little unpretentious place, up a side alley. This venue is the heart of bossa nova in Rio, and where many of the big artists started their career, including Vinicius de Moraes, Tom Jobim and Joao Gilberto. The concert we saw was Lu Oliveira and Rogerio Guimaraes - excellent show, 90 mins, and for just 8 euros each. It’s an intimate little place and there were around 20 of us in the audience.

My main blip is a mix of pics from the day and the extra is what’s on offer on the Copa pavements down the front.
