Quince

I have two bushes and both have fruit which is surprising with no rain for months. With so much sun they have ripened earlier, in previous years they have stayed green. I do not make jam or jelly and don’t know what the taste is like.

Garden chaps resumed heavy shifting of rock and gravel back where it came from in an endeavour to form gentle slope.

We have had awful problem last few days with heating coming on !!! We were boiling on the hot day with red hot radiators. Everything is switched off but it is computer controlled - well well well. I was instructed to knock off other switches in our loft (not easy for me) and yesterday I really had enough, I am not cut out for these jobs. At least we were successful in getting heating to stop but thought we would not have any hot water, I could live without this for day or two as long as heating stayed off. Surprised to find we do have hot water. Engineer coming tomorrow.
