Yawn...
It was quite the day.
I hadn't slept much overnight and ended up reading for a couple of hours in the wee hours of the morning and then was awakened when I finally fell asleep, by my neighbour calling me to come over for coffee. She knows I am usually up between 5 and 6, so it was not out of the ordinary for her to call that early, but today was not a good day for that; however, I got up and went over, but I had to decline the coffee.
My test tomorrow at the hospital comes with strict rules about no caffeine of any sort in the 24 hours before the test, and they were very specific...providing a list of everything from decaf coffee, to tea, chocolate, and sodas... Who knew caffeine was everywhere? Missing my usual morning dose of caffeine, and suffering from a lack of sleep, I was pretty much in a daze but we had a relatively good visit anyway.
Every time I tried to nap throughout the day, it was foiled. Before I knew it, it was time to meet friends for dinner, and muster up enough energy to appear bright, alert, animated and carry on an intelligent conversation...of which I was not totally successful. But it was good to be with friends and good friends understand that tired thing.....
En-route, driving toward a beautiful fiery sky, I remembered that I had not taken a single photo all day and here was a possible photo-op - right in front of me - a colourful sunset at last! I took a detour to the lake, a bit late for the main event (and totally underdressed for the wind and the cold..brrrr ) and quickly snapped a few pix and headed home to bed!
Hence, my blips for the day - thanks to a last-minute fortuitous sunset and no great effort put forth by me!
