The Next Chapter!

A relaxed morning before catching the train at 11am. Lunch service started as soon as we were underway and since we’d foregone breakfast we didn’t want to wait another couple of hours until the next service at York. I have to say I’ve rather enjoyed the LNER food both directions, it’s rather tasty…as was the wine despite the sun not being over the yardarm! A pleasant journey north when I think I’ve caught up with blip despite the intermittent internet connection and poor mobile signal in places.

We arrived in Berwick about 15 minutes late after a few delays on the line but as MC was working we had no lift. I couldn’t book a taxi for love nor money and whilst we could’ve caught a bus we decided to walk the almost two miles home!! Case is unpacked, washing is drying and I’ve had some homemade soup from the freezer with cheese and crackers for tea! I think the garden has largely survived intact but I may give it a water this evening after I’ve walked the prom…I need my sea air fix!

A day out tomorrow to Galashiels with the WI then a busy day on Thursday…not sure when I’ll get a quiet day to myself again.

My blip was captured from the train as we crossed the Royal Border Bridge this afternoon…one of my favourite views in the world.
