Sunrise
Gorgeous sky this morning. The foreground wasn't that dark, the phone cannot cope with the light contrasts.
Sheringham's local economy did well yesterday. Walking along the prom all the bins were overflowing with takeaway food packages and wrapping. Some bins had bags of rubbish alongside and some had scattered on the prom.
Headed to Tesco with the intention of buying freezer items but many of the freezers were empty and a few out if order. So no peas and no cheese or butter to be had.
Back home made a coffee and for the first time in weeks sat outside and read Ian Mcewan's Solar.
Also put my Merlin app on to hear the birds we have in the garden. Mr was sceptical there would be a range of garden birds. So far the app has indicated the presence of a blackcap, bluetit, great tit, dunnock, robin, wood pigeon, sparrow, magpie and yellow-legged gull.
After lunch discovered a leak below the sink in the utility room. Luckily the kitchen sink is a good alternative. Cleared the cupboard and mopped up water and left doors open to air.
Made a red lentil and vegetable pasta sauce.
Posted on the local Nextdoor site and the Sheringham community Facebook page for plumber recommendations. I received one reply on Nextdoor for Blackline H based in Norwich and was accompanied by an England flag image. I googled Blackline H and no plumber emerged but a digital company.
It called to mind an episode in Cambridge years ago when travellers said they would clear our gutters. They left a card with a website and phone number which turned out to be an irate man in Nottingham unconnected to the travellers who had had his phone number used before in this way.
Later I discovered the admin for Nextdoor had blocked Blackline H.
I've had a few sensible recommendations including Soph the Plumber, a recently qualified young woman. I've messaged her. Ellie, my previous painter/decorater was excellent.
It's been another warm day but we did have a brief shower in the afternoon.
Rang my bestie, Anna in Cambridge.
Pleasant evening everyone.
