One Truth

We went to Felixstowe this afternoon with Mr HB's daughter J and her good friend S.
They both work in Customs Clearance and S particularly knows much about this famous old Port. Wiki also filled me in:
The Port of Felixstowe, in Felixstowe, Suffolk, is the United Kingdom's largest container port, dealing with 48% of Britain's containerised trade. In 2017, it was ranked as 43rd busiest container port in the world and 8th in Europe, with a handled traffic of 3.85 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU). In 2019 it was ranked the UK's 7th busiest port.

We had lunch outside the View Point Café there and spent a fabulous couple of hours watching this enormous container vessel being Piloted into dock with the aid of 3 tugs. It was a truly awesome sight. Sadly a change in the weather tore us away as it was so windy with a few squally showers and we got very cold. S told us that it would take quite a few more wiggles to get 'One Truth' into her final berth. Mr HB would have liked to have stayed to see that, of course!!!

On the way back to the caravan we dropped in on J's son Adam at Fox's Marina where he works as a specialist welder and does repairs on boats moored here, smaller than ones we've seen today! but all still looking pretty expensive.  As you see the sun's come out again and warmed us up nicely.

Nothing tiny about my blip today I'm afraid.

Extras: The Marina, a greedy Starling at our lunch table
