Look at me Ma! Top of the pole!
They’re European Fire Beetles apparently and I spotted a wee colony of them as I headed to the bike repair shop with my front wheel to get the tyre and valve replaced. They were still there an hour later when I headed back to pick up the wheel and still there an hour later still when I headed back again after their lunch break was over. Attentive? Me? Never.
I managed to get the wheel back on at the second attempt (another YouTube video was needed) and was fair chuffed until I noticed that the rear wheel was now flat. I mean, come on!! Anyway, I’ve pumped it up, it seems OK but I’ve not ruled out another trip tomorrow via the beetle colony.
By the way, these aren’t nasty beetles that’ll destroy everything in their path. Stand easy.
