Korean BBQ

Arrived in South Korea bright and early, and after a nap to recharge a little bit of exploring.

First priority: food. And as the saying goes "When in Seoul, cook your own dinner over hot coals..."

These barbecue restaurants are a lot of fun, and quite quirky to the naive jet-lagged foreigner - chose your meat from a picture menu, and it's brought to you to cook yourself in a wee pit in the middle of the table to your liking, and eat with any combination of the plentiful accompaniments - cabbage, mint leaves and glass noodles at the ready.

The strange hoover extensions hanging from ceiling are in fact extractor fans - it gets a little smokey cooking indoors!
