Cat's Paw

Palimpsest

Multiple iterations of text on the side of a former Printer, Bookbinder and Stationer near the top of School Hill on the High Street in Lewes.

I've long been fascinated by the name of this particular twitten. For one thing, it always reminds me of a word I learned - and very much enjoyed! - on a visit to a watermill as a child, where the miller pointed out the wallower in the drive train that connected the waterwheel to the millstones.

Or is it a walkway where people go to wallow?
