A delightful visitor

Today was a beautiful day, very warm and sunny. The beautiful Gull discovered some of the titbits which had been put out for any visiting birds, and stayed restfully in the same place for quite a while.Then there was a sudden burst of heavy rain and he was gone! 
The rain was very welcome as we hadn't had any rain at all this summer, none, although it seems quite a lot of counties had enjoyed a few brief downpours.
Here's hoping we have some more rain soon as so many of our plants have perished through being so dry for so long, in particular the lawn.
