Life in Sunny Dubai

Charging up

(27/8/25)
I had to get a picture of the car being refuelled. G was not in favour of an overnight charge as she was worried about leaving a window open with a wire hanging out. I was pleased to report that the car and charger were both still there in the morning!
I woke early as I want to finish as much as possible on the work front. It is my last day to work on this holiday. The next time will be back in Dubai. All was going well with G turning some cupboards around in the kitchen. We are now on the last stretch to finish small detail items like putting glue on the pebbles so they don’t go everywhere. Our neighbour in No. 4 demonstrated how the spray works, so I ordered one right away.
We had to get Ed’s help to loosen the bolt for the shower hose. He was impressed with a sealant that I sourced, which comes in a small tube and doesn’t require a gun to apply it! :))
I called Specsavers to find out when I can collect a pair of sunglasses that I ordered two weeks ago. They called back around 4 PM to say they were now in the store, so we went right away to collect. Shock, horror. Instead of sunglasses, someone put ordinary lenses. What a disaster. Thankfully, the supervisor who is aware of the whole saga of things going wrong on this visit agreed to extend my Golden Ticket, so I can order a pair of prescription sunglasses when I am next in the country.
G did a shop for essentials in M&S before we called in at Ladymead Retail Park for two stores there. I got home and went straight back to work while G prepared dinner. The project to migrate events from one business entity to the new one is slowly progressing. As some items were completed, I was asked to clear as much as I can of the backlog that’s been building up these last few weeks. I worked past midnight doing what I could. It’s been a long, tiring, but good day.
