Living my dream

I have completed what is probably my least favourite annual job. Woohoo!

The tunnel house is clean again, after a year of accumulated lichen and muck both inside and out. I can see right through it once more, and everything will thrive very much more now that light levels have increased inside.

The extra shows one cleaned panel, one still to be scrubbed.

It is a job which requires minimal equipment and no brain whatsoever. I clamber up and down the step ladder wielding the deck broom and hose, working my way along each side outside, spraying, scrubbing and spraying.

The inside is never as dirty, but more of that dirt ends up in my hair and on my clothes when grubby water drips down onto me.

In the process I cleaned away heaps of spiders webs, but wherever possible not the spiders. And in so doing I liberated a dozen or two moths which were caught up in the webs.

The spiders will already be busy re-spinning. They are excellent pest control through summer.

Bean supervised...at a healthy distance from the dangerous hose.
