WHAT A SAUCE - AND EVEN ON THEME YET AGAIN!
As there is no Community Fridge today - as it is closed all week - and as Mr. HCB felt better, we decided to go out for coffee before we went to do some shopping, as the cupboards are looking a little bare.
Jack’s, our go to place in Old Town is also closed for refurbishment for two or three weeks, so we decided to go to Howies just round the corner in Wood Street. The first obstacle, for me anyway, was getting up onto the high seats - but I managed eventually - however, I have to say it wasn’t that comfortable, but the coffee was good.
I had spotted the bottles of different sauces on a shelf opposite, so after a little rearrangement - well you knew I would, didn’t you - I took several shots and was quite pleased with the result after I had put it through one of my “arty” apps. I then put a frame on when I got home and here is my “colourful” offering for Abstract Thursday.
I think the rest of the day will be spent either jigsaw puzzling, reading or just resting - especially for Mr. HCB. We decided not to go shopping as we have lots of stuff in the freezer that needs using up and of course, there are lots of beans that need using too, so I feel another stirfry coming on later.
Have a great day - we are still waiting for the rain - although we had quite a storm yesterday afternoon, but still not enough to do much good - however, the clouds today are looking heavy with rain, so who knows?
P.S. If you didn't know, the letters HP on the bottles of sauce stand for "Houses of Parliament" - as it was rumoured the sauce was used in the restaurant there back at the turn of the 20th century and to this day, there is still a picture of the Houses of Parliament on the front of the bottle. All useless information, I know, but it might come in handy for a question in a Pub Quiz!
