Chocolate Tasting

I consider home based photos two days in a row bad form, but tonight's chocolate tasting was a one of kind event that deserved documentation. I posted earlier the chocolate our friend brought us for picking him up a the airport. He has asked us ever since which was our favorite, so tonight we decided to find out.

Even though we have been eating this chocolate a little at a time since he brought it, we made certain to save two pieces of each type for this tasting. I looked up online how to perform a chocolate tasting and found it was much like a wine tasting, which we have done numerous times - go from light to heavy, take your time, savor each sample on your tongue. The difference here is you get to eat the chocolate rather than spitting the wine as is customary (though I have often skipped that step in the past). Shown here are the various varieties warming up to room temperature, which is important for aroma and texture determinations. Besides once we got going there was no thought of taking more photos, which would have been difficult with sticky, chocolate covered fingers anyway.
