Radio

We grew up surrounded by radio. Dad set up an old wireless under the stairs and ran speakers into the kitchen. We grew up with Two-Way Family Favourites on Sundays, Jack de Manio, Sue MacGregor, Brian Redhead, and John Timpson. Later, after dad had died, mum always had a small transistor radio playing in the kitchen, even if she was watching TV in another room. I start listening to the radio at 05:00 most mornings, and part of my morning routine is turning on the radio when I get downstairs, usually playing through my smart speaker.

This is what we went to Bluewater to buy, it's a Roberts Stream 95i. It does a fair few things and has Alexa onboard. It's portable - luggable, it's a chunky monkey - and I've got the rechargable battery pack so I can use it away from a power socket. The sound is better than from the smart speaker, and I can stream music from my phone to it, as well as listening to DAB or streaming radio from the web. That's how I've used the voucher that I got last year for 25 years as an OU tutor.
