Sun arise

Sadly our holiday has come to an end! We'd packed much of our stuff away last night, so this morning we just had to put the last few things into bags and take down the tent, finish packing the van, and enjoy coffee and croissants from the Beach Barista. We ate at the picnic tables overlooking the bay, for a last view of the sea from Bigbury.

Then the long trip back to Yorkshire. Not via the usual route, but over the Severn Bridge and through a little bit of Wales, before driving through the beautiful Wye Valley, passing Tintern Abbey on the way. Continuing northward, we stopped in Bridgnorth for refreshment, and to stretch our legs. Last stop was Buxton, where we had a meal before heading for home. It was a very long way round - understatement - but a very pleasant journey, and better than the inevitable heavy traffic on the motorways.
