Fed up with pond weed

I didn't have to walk too far into Maxwell Park before I saw the pair of swans up on the grass. They did have one cygnet but sadly it didn't survive.
The female spent a number of weeks just sitting on an empty nest but eventually she came back on to the water and joined her partner.

Did some clearing out this afternoon while the rain fell and watered the garden. I found five staplers in one of the desk drawers. Why I have five I have no idea ..... I retired from teaching many years ago and as far as I can remember I haven't used a single staple since.
