The Birds are Back in Town
I took a few photos of the birds in my garden this morning, they certainly were back in force. In my collage there's a coal tit, a chiffchaff (I think) and a long tailed tit. The blue tits were landing on the plants in the pond so they could get a drink and do some bathing. It was nice to see them all back. First thing I saw a pigeon sitting by the bird bath and it was still there an hour later. I was concerned it was injured, but it flew away when I went in the garden. A bit later in the morning I could hear a flapping of wings from my laurel tree. Thinking the possibly injured pigeon might be back, I went to investigate and a pigeon flew off. I peeked in the tree and there was a poorly constructed nest with a pigeon sitting on it and giving me a look, so that explains the behaviour I'd seen earlier. I hope I get a photo of the resulting squab. This afternoon I walked with H at Felbrigg, it was sunny, hot and humid. I didn't carry my camera round as I was still stiff and sore from working yesterday. Back home I watered the tubs after checking the forecast - no rain for days - then a couple of hours later we had 4mm of rain!
