August Break Day 28 Pattern

The flowers on the hearth have petals that are similar and make a splendid pattern as most flowers do.

A sad day as one of my long time friends lost her husband. We worked together for over 30 years and made time to get together even after we retired. For the last two or three years she has been staying close to home with her hubby as he dealt with failing kidneys and lungs. I tried to talk with her about once a month and occasionally we had lunch together.

Life happens and sometimes it is really hard.

Tomorrow I have my high school friends gathering here at my house for our monthly lunch. There will be ten of us. A little joy amidst the sad.
