Art for Art’s Sake

Into Leeds on the train that had picked up five ballet friends at earlier stations. Lynne and l had both heard on a local podcast about somewhere new to have lunch.
I’d purposely gone to look at the place on Tuesday when l went to ballet. I wasn’t convinced we would like it as l couldn’t see any indoor seating and l wasn’t keen on where the establishment was.
Found out today that it doesn’t open on a Tuesday, except for deliveries and that’s why it looked so inhospitable.
We firstly had a drink outside and then went into the little dining room in the basement that only seats 16.
Very dark inside but our eyes soon accommodated the dimness.
Some lovely art to see. The one in my blip made think of a large molar at first but then l saw a shoe and saw something else.

Food was freshly prepared and tasted fantastic and we all enjoyed our meals which were selected from a small but diverse menu.
We finished with an espresso martini or affogato. Three of us got the train home, two went shopping and one went for a facial ( l’ve never had one of those). Then after fifteen plan was to go through to Ilkley to have another drink but l got off at my station as l’d had enough to eat and drink - more would have spoiled it, must be getting sensible in my old age.
