The Pensioner

Because it’s there

The communal breakfast in the fine dining room of kilt attired mine host. To give us a taste of baronial living quoth he. And yes, it’s a Royal Stewart as his family (surname: Best) was the first to swear allegiance to the King when he moved from Stirling to Edinburgh. Don’t say bullshit!
Anyway, he was too busy scurrying about to be too annoying, and after a brief stroll round town we were off the short distance to the ferry at Caribou. Over to PEI we went. First stop, the Point Prim lighthouse. Very scenic and there’s a shack doing terrific chowder right next to it. We sat out in the sun with the waves lapping below us. This is what we want.
A brief stop at a model village made of bottles (whoah, yes) and then to Charlottetown. There’s a roof terrace! A stroll around the area and we found a bar with a troubadour - got to love a bit of James Taylor, though the SK wasn’t so enamoured with his kazoo playing.
Then to an Indian restaurant - the Delhi Darbar just round the corner from the hotel, which was every bit as excellent as the reviews, well except it wasn’t licensed. Doh! Still, got to love a salted lassi.
