Another dolphin; this one at the hospital…
Guernsey is going to have a resident rheumatologist instead of ones visiting from the UK and today was the last time my rheumatologist will be visiting. I don’t know whether that influenced his decision today to try another biological type of treatment when the last time I saw him he decided that since my inflammatory markers were dropping he would leave things as they are. Now they’re even lower but I can barely walk. He checked my x-rays and examined knees but said that since most of the damage was rheumatoid it made no sense to have someone who has had RA for years having no treatment. So rather than refer me for knee replacements he prescribed yet another immuno suppressant. I’m relieved not to be having operations but not sure I have faith that my knees will improve. Time will tell…
And that is my saying today.
Time will tell

Meaning

something that will not be proven until a later date
a question that will only be answered at a later date
the truth of something cannot be determined until a later date

Origin
This phrase seems to date back to the 1500s, but there is no written evidence of this. The meaning of the idiom is pretty self-explanatory. It is impossible to predict the future, therefor only time will tell whether something will happen or not.

Lucius Annaeus Seneca was a Roman statesman and philosopher who died in 65AD. Some of his quotes still live on today. He is quoted to have said “Time discovers truth.”
