Large-Flowering Evening Primrose

Our friends Tony and Rosie had told us about the Bath Soft Cheese Company, just outside Bath, a farm which produces a range of cheeses, has its own cafe and  is the starting point for a variety or walks around the local area, so we thought we’d pay a visit this morning.

We did the 3k circular walk which takes in the local farm fields and the footpath beside the River Avon, with fine views of the rolling countryside.

Back at the cafe we enjoyed excellent home made scones with a generous slab of their Wife Of Bath cheese and fig chutney, followed by equally excellent home made cake.

These evening primroses were growing wild beside the farm track down to the river.

On the way back we called in at Tony and Rosie’s with a present for Rosie’s birthday on Sunday and ended up chatting over tea and biscuits for a couple of hours.
