The Woodlands, Silverdale
This afternoon, we drove over to Silverdale for a walk with our friends, Cathy and Pete.
I've driven through Silverdale now and again over the years, and visited their house, before, but I've never really explored it or been out walking there. It's absolutely wonderful (and prime running territory).
At the end of our walk, we had a pint in The Woodlands Hotel.
My friend, Bob, who runs many bars and pubs in Liverpool, says that his favourite pubs are the ones where you walk in and it could be any year from 1950 onwards, and I reckon the Woodlands meets that criterion. I loved it.
And, after freshening up, we had dinner at The Silverdale Hotel, which was very good, and I realised at the end of the evening that we'd all been chatting for about eight hours solid!
