Pavlova......... " Giving Birth Day " cake
Another appointment at Blaydon Primary Care today. The nurse I saw last week decided I needed two appointments this week just to make sure the infection had cleared up - so I went on Tuesday and I was back there this afternoon.
When I got to my bus stop I saw Shirley who used to go to my slimming group when it was held in the village. She reached her target weight and stopped going. Shes a very sprightly 91 year old - and shes still at her target weight. We sat together on the bus all the way to The Metrocentre. She was going to get another bus to Hexham to spend the weekend with her " boyfriend ".... he's 83 years old. He usually drives over to collect her but today he had to hang around on his allotment and await delivery of a shed. They have plans to visit a local Country Fair over the weekend.
I got a bus from the Metrocentre to Blaydon. My appointment was 2.10pm. I had a wait of around 20 mins which is unusual as Im usually seen on time. I actually saw the same nurse I saw last week. She was pleased to see that my leg was looking much better. I took a photo as usual and as far as I could tell there was a slight improvement even from Tuesday. So things seem to be progressing slowly but surely. New dressings and bandages were applied and I was on my way.
Next I got a bus to Winlaton and went to visit Neil, Rachael, Ellis and Luna. Ellis was asleep most of the time. Good to have a catch up and relax for a while. Ive added a couple of photos of Luna as an Extra.
Luna was due for a walk so I went too. On the way to the " dog walkers field " Neil called in at a local bakery to get me a cake. Its his birthday tomorrow and he has always said as well as it being his birthday its my " giving birth day " and its a day for me to celebrate too. So he wanted to get me a cake. I chose this pavlova. The shop assistant put it into a cake box and it survived the journey home. I ate it this evening. It was delicious... and obviously not " on plan".
After Luna's walk I got another bus to Blaydon Bus Station. Then another bus to the Metrocentre. Then another bus home. There's no direct route as you can tell and its just a question of getting a combination of buses to get there and back.
I was quite tired when I got home and after having my meal ( sea bass and salad )... and my pavlova ... Ive just relaxed and watched TV.
The weather started off rather damp but as the day went on it got sunny and warm.
