Something new
Keely seems very normal now and I'm struggling to keep her resting.
Was supposed to be going to The Lost Gardens of Heligan with a friend today, but the exhaust fell off her car and she had to take it to the garage.
Did something completely new this evening, helped a friend (who works in ecology) do a bat survey. This was the view of property from my position. It seems quite sad the old lady died some time ago and now the relatives want to do something with the bungalow. A bat survey needs to be done to make sure none are roosting before they can start doing any major alterations.
5 of us were positioned around the bungalow with bat detectors and infrared cameras and we recorded any bats we recorded or saw over 2 hours (an hour either side of sunset)
It seems I was the lucky one I recorded a lot of bats in the vicinity (although nothing seen on the property).
I recorded several common pipistrelle, some soprano pipistrelle, one greater horseshoe, a Daubentons bat and a couple of Western Barbastelle bats. Hadn't heard of several of those bats
