Insect Glue

Looking for a ripe plum on the tree and saw this. It is a stream of crystal, hardened, sap or glue extruded from the bottom of a plum. Obviously caused by an insect burrowing in but no idea which one, why and how. Think it is quite beautiful.
Will probably get fed up with macro Blips soon.
