Friday

I went to see Pauline today.

Blimey she's going through it!

Martin booked a "Pure Cremation" and Pauline's celebration last Sunday was supposed to happen after the cremation. I thought he had been cremated.

Martin's doctor didn't complete the paperwork and went on holiday! The body could not be released without whatever document the doctor hadn't supplied. I think it was the Death Certificate. Poor Pauline was only able to register the death this morning.

So now the cremation is due to happen later next week.

It's appalling! Lots of distress for the family. They had no children but Pauline is receiving lots of support from wider family and friends.

She welled up a few times and I always join in. I was thinking, "Please don't cry, please don't cry!"

It's carnival weekend. We walked to The British Lion this evening. It's a proper, no frills pub, on the other side of town mainly frequented by old men. Clive, Simon, Giuseppe etc, all love it.

There's a fair on The Green and another in the Market Place. All stopped by the time we walked home.
