‘From (personal) Competition to Social Community’

I was Funnel Managing again at parkrun today, where, after crossing the finish line, participants form a line to collect their finish tokens and have them scanned along with their personal barcodes. 

It’s a ‘bridge’ between the personal achievement of finishing and the social, community side of parkrun!

With over 700 participants again today, part of my job was to ensure that the line in the funnel didn’t back up to the finish line. So repeated, but I hope gentle, reminders to people to keep moving and to stay in the position they crossed the finish line were in order.
